The rules that keep this place worth using

• You must be 18 or older to create an account, post, or sell anything.
• One account per person. Extra accounts made to dodge a limit or a ban will be removed.
• Use a name people can recognise. You do not need your full legal name, but do not impersonate someone else.
• You are responsible for everything posted from your account, so keep your password to yourself.

• Describe what you actually have. If a phone has a cracked back or a house has no water on Tuesdays, say so.
• Use your own photos of the actual item, house or event. Photos taken from Google or from another seller are not allowed.
• Put a real price. “Call for price” wastes everybody’s time, and hidden costs added later are treated as dishonesty.
• Pick the right tag and category. A job posted in the market page gets removed rather than moved.
• Post each thing once. The same item posted five times to stay at the top is spam.
• Mark it Sold when it goes. It takes one tap and it saves everyone a wasted message.

• Meet somewhere public and busy, in daylight. Bring someone with you for anything expensive.
• See the item and test it before you pay. Charge the phone, boot the laptop, switch the TV on.
• Pay once you have the item. Be very careful with anyone insisting on payment first.
• Check the payment number against the seller’s profile or business page before sending anything.
• Sellers: honour what you advertised. Changing the price when the buyer arrives is not negotiating, it is bait.

• A real employer never charges a fee to apply, to be interviewed, to be “registered”, or for a uniform.
• Job posts must state the actual role and honest pay. No vague “earn 5,000 daily” recruitment schemes.
• Never pay a deposit for a house you have not physically seen.
• Landlords and caretakers: state the true rent and deposit, and do not advertise a house that is already taken.
• Get a receipt for any deposit or rent, with the amount and date written down.

• Stolen goods, or items you cannot prove you own
• Drugs, alcohol sold without a licence, tobacco, or any controlled substance
• Weapons, ammunition, or anything made to injure
• Counterfeit goods, fake documents, certificates or IDs
• Wildlife, ivory, protected species or products made from them
• Prescription medicines, supplements making medical claims, or unlicensed treatments
• Adult content, escort services, or anything sexual
• Pyramid schemes, betting tips, loan sharking, gambling, or “quick money” offers
• Someone else’s personal details — phone number, ID, photos — posted without their permission
• Hate speech, tribal or ethnic attacks, harassment, or threats of any kind
• Political incitement, or content designed to stir up conflict between communities

• Disagree with the post, not the person. No insults, no tribal remarks, no pile-ons.
• Do not share screenshots of private messages to embarrass someone publicly.
• Comments are for questions and useful information. Advertising in someone else’s comments is spam.
• Do not send unsolicited sales messages to people who did not ask.
• If someone asks you to stop messaging them, stop.

• List a business you genuinely operate, with contacts that actually reach you.
• Verification is free and cannot be bought. It confirms the business is real, not that it is good.
• Review only businesses you have actually dealt with.
• You cannot review your own business, and you cannot ask friends to post reviews for you.
• Businesses may not post fake negative reviews about competitors. This is the fastest route to removal.
• A bad review is not a reason to threaten someone. Reply to it publicly and let people judge.

Reports are private. The person you report is never told who reported them. Say what is wrong and, if you can, include a link — it makes sorting the problem out far quicker.

• What you post stays yours. By posting it here you allow us to display it on the site.
• We show your name, profile picture and bio publicly. Your email is never shown.
• Your phone number is shown only where you chose to add it to a post or a business page.
• We do not sell your details to anyone.
• You can edit or delete your posts at any time from your portal.

OnlineComrade is a noticeboard. We do not own, inspect, or guarantee anything posted here, and we are not part of any deal you make. We check what we reasonably can and remove what we are told about, but the judgement in any transaction is yours.

These rules may change as the site grows. Anything significant will be announced on the Updates page rather than changed quietly.
