Join us for a community cleanup and tree planting exercise at the Isecheno gate of Kakamega Forest.
We will be collecting plastic waste along the main trail, then planting indigenous seedlings donated by the Kenya Forest Service in the degraded section near the guest house. Volunteers from schools, churches, boda boda saccos and local businesses are all welcome.
Bring a pair of gloves if you have them, a reusable water bottle, and shoes you do not mind getting muddy. Gum boots, jembes and seedlings will be provided at the gate. Tea and mandazi will be served at 10am, and lunch is provided for everyone who registers on arrival.
Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult. There will be a short guided forest walk at 2pm for anyone who wants to stay on.
